Jathara Parivartanasana


Turning stomach posture or supine lying twist. Jathara parivartanasana tones the mid-band of the abdomen and increases the digestive fire (jatharagni). The rotation to the spine and neck reduces tension and increases flexibility. Tightness in the lower-back and outer hips is released and the upper chest and shoulders are opened. You may wish to place a cushion under the head for support.
